All parties in all commercial transactions should be aware of the potential for fraud. In some cases those parties you negotiate with may not even be aware of the liability they pose. Being vigilant by doing your due diligence is the only real way to prevent fraud in your international contracts.

Exporters and Rules of Origin: Get in on NAFTA’s benefits and avoid heavy penalties

The “Rules of Origin” under NAFTA are the criteria used to determine the country of origin of a product that is being imported or exported within the NAFTA region.
As part of NAFTA, the United States, Canada and Mexico (the “Parties”) have all agreed to reduce and/or eliminate tariffs on goods that originate from their respective territories. However, the Parties continue to apply significantly higher tariffs to goods that do not originate in one of the NAFTA countries.

How an international business program helped launch my supply chain career

I started the job hunting process at least six months before I graduated from Fanshawe College’s FITT-accredited international business program. I think the most important thing in the job hunting process is to identify your career goal or objectives first, and start to get ready early. Having my career goal set up long before I started the program, I knew I wanted to work for a company involved in international trade.
