Position: Transportation Coordinator
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Description: The Transportation Coordinator assists with coordinating global transportation activities associated with inbound transportation from suppliers and vendors as well as tracking and sometimes coordinating outbound shipments.
Inbound shipments primarily occur from TOMS domestic and overseas vendors to 3rd Party DC sites in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia in accordance with established on time performance standards.
Outbound shipments can occur from any location designated by management. The coordinator will assist as requested with all shipments. This position also assists with the auditing and processing of supply chain invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily coordination and monitoring of import shipments
- Track, trace and facilitate Export and Domestic Shipments
- Obtain quotes and Maintain transportation rate folders
- Prepare invoice backup for approval by management
- Documentation coordination
- Process claims with forwarders and small parcel providers
- Maintain routing guides with service providers
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge and understanding of Global Transportation service providers & freight forwarding operation
- Clear comprehension of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word and Excel)
- Understanding of distribution and customs process (3-5 years)
- Communication, analytical and project management skills(3-5 years)
- Ability to participate as a team-member in a fast based team oriented environment (3-5 years)
- Working knowledge of SAP as well as GT Nexus/Tradecard is an added advantage
- 3-5 years’ experience in Global and domestic Transportation preferred
- 5 years’ experience working with Excel required
- B.A./B.S. degree preferred
- Knowledge of Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Customs Compliance – preferred
- Transportation or logistics background in Lifestyle brands with focus on footwear and/or eyewear preferred
- Travel Requirements: May require travel to TOMS DC in Mira Loma, CA as well as to attend local provider meetings
