Position: Shipper/Receiver and Warehouseperson
Location: Burnaby, BC
Description: Ballard’s Material handling Group has an immediate opening for a Shipper/Receiver and Warehouseperson who will be supporting the materials team to drive inventory accuracy and on-time shipping schedules as well as maximizing the use of our available storage space. This position will be located at our Burnaby facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing Shipping/ Receiving transactions
- Ensures on-time delivery of goods to both customers and production
- Ensure paperwork accuracy and on-time for financial cut-offs
- Ensure transaction and inventory accuracy
- Reviews and recommends proper HS codes classifications
- Understands INCO terms
- Files and renews NAFTA certificates
- Ensures work is done in a safe manner
- Collects and prepares proper shipping & product documentation required for international shipping and letters of credit contracts
- Reviews and applies best practices in warehousing and optimizes space.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in international shipping in a manufacturing environment or similar role
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Forklift certificate, Reach (Stand Up) and/or Counter Lever (sit down)
- Dangerous goods certificate for Air, Land transportation
- Understands Letters of Credit implications and requirements
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems an asset
- Experience with FedEx, DHL an asset
- High School diploma
- Certification in International Trade from FITT
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills – timely, accurate and succinct delivery of information
- Strong time management skills – ability to manage multiple priorities
