Description:
Ashton College is currently looking for legal specialists to teach the Legal Aspects of International Trade course for our Diploma and Certificate in International Trade programs.

During this course, individuals will expand upon their knowledge of the Canadian legal system, the legal structures through which business is conducted in Canada and the Canadian laws of contract. Individuals will be introduced to the basics of the legal aspects of international business such as the resolution of international disputes, the choice of the proper law of contract, and the legal aspects of carriage of goods.

Instructors are responsible for preparing lesson plans, leading interactive lectures, fostering interaction among students, as well as preparing, administrating, and grading assignments and examinations, and being available to provide students with additional resources and support.

Qualifications:

Fluency in English
Bachelor’s degree in Business (or related degree)
3 years of related work experience
3 years of teaching/training experience
Specialized knowledge in the Canadian legal system and international business
Experienced with FITT material (an asset)
Exceptional communicator (both verbal and written)
Skilled in planning, organizing, delivering, and evaluating specific instructional content
Confident, engaging, enthusiastic, and dynamic presenter
Passionate about fostering relationships with students (an asset)

These are part-time contract positions. This course is taught Monday to Friday 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The length of each contract position is determined by the length of the course that the instructor is teaching. Individuals will teach at our campus which is located in downtown Vancouver. Teaching opportunities start on April 20, 2015.
