Position: Global Trade Compliance Administrator

Location: Calgary, AB

Description: Aerotek is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Administrator to join their trade compliance department. This individual will support activities necessary to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and policies. This position provides direction in connection with such activities and coordinates with various company groups, affiliate companies and federal agencies for the purpose of ensuring compliance applicable export and import laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for obtaining Canada and U.S. import/export authorizations and ensuring compliance with those authorizations as required to support the company’s international activities
  • Responsible for clearing export/import blocks such as license determinations, and applying Harmonized Tariff Schedule/Country of Origin
  • Responsible for providing necessary documentation or information to the companies Customs Broker as required
  • Responsible for logging, tracking and filing imports, and post-entry audits
  • Responsible for ensuring export/import recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met
  • Assist in compliance self-assessments as well as any audits
  • Provide Global Trade Compliance support to various program activities and cross-functional teams in the execution of providing goods and services within and outside of Canada

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Admin, International Affairs, Public Administration or related field
  • Certified Customs Specialist certification is a must
  • 3 years of experience in customs or newly certified
  • Must have fluent communication skills in English (both written and verbal) and strong organizational skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills – MS Office Suite, MS Outlook and Windows
  • Experience in SAP/GTS strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in Canada export/import compliance position preferred.
  • Strong reading compressive skills
  • Strong data accuracy skills
  • Working knowledge of or aptitude for learning the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations, US Export Administration Regulations, Us Customs requirements and all similarly applicable Canadian Regulations and requirements
