Job Description:

As an Export Development Executive (EDE), you will have a passion for assisting with the growth and success of business, working with Nova Scotia companies to help them grow their revenues through increased national and international trade, consulting with companies and delivering on export programs and organizing trade missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working one‑on‑one with Nova Scotia companies to help them address their export capacity building needs;
  • Developing and executing export readiness and capacity building initiatives;
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and project partners;
  • Developing projects based on analysis of client opportunities; managing projects including budgets;
  • Writing effective project proposals; and
  • Participating in the effective delivery of the Province’s suite of export development programs and services.

Skills & Qualifications:

To be considered as a candidate, you will possess a post-secondary education in business, commerce or a related discipline with a focus on international export, and have a minimum of three years of direct export development experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Foreign language capabilities, experience working with clients in foreign markets (Asia & Europe) and a CITP®|FIBP® designation will be considered assets.

If you have a solid understanding of the issues and opportunities present in international export, including export policy and trade negotiations and can comfortably cope with ambiguity and extended travel with irregular schedules while sustaining a high level of energy, then this may be an exciting opportunity for you.

The position requires a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment and initiative.  You must possess (or can obtain) a valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions. National and international travel may be required.

Classification:  This is a bargaining unit position with a NSBI 7 rate of pay:

$69,276.48 – $82,991.48
