The Organization: The Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) is a professional organization committed to providing international trade training, certification and resources designed to prepare businesses and individuals to compete successfully in world markets.

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to the President & CEO
  • Has two direct reports, Content Marketing Specialists
  • Collaborates with Product Development & Delivery Manager

Position Summary:  We are looking for a talented, self-directed individual who will be responsible for leading our small team in the planning, design, optimization, and measurement of FITT’s digital technologies to increase brand awareness and preference, and increase our national and international client base to support growth.

The ideal candidate has strong skills and knowledge in: client engagement marketing; data-driven strategic approaches; marketing automation techniques; and, online advertising.

This position requires an individual that is creative in keeping marketing fresh and engaging, is driven to staying on top of trends, and enjoys working in a small, collaborative team environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and implement brand standards, marketing and online sales strategies
  • Provide creative design direction
  • Manage and create content, optimize for SEO/SEM and manage analytics for digital-marketing related activities
  • Manage online advertising across Google and Social Media
  • Analyze and report on client, and potential client, behavior insights and provide recommended approaches to address changes
  • Develop and maintain a content publishing editorial calendar
  • Integrate and manage online activities with off-line marketing and communications plans
  • Develop creative briefs for the FITT team to share learning, data and insights
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure outsourced work meets FITT needs
  • Comply with regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities for applying new technologies, digital products and services to support growth
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage FITT’s online community
  • Monitor and manage the FITT online community to enhance FITT’s reputation
  • Manage customer lifecycle, communications and related analytics in house and with outside resources
  • Assist in the development of financials for unit and initiating cost efficiencies
  • Maintain the overall integrity and accuracy of the database (all FITT staff)


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years direct, progressive digital marketing experience including eCommerce
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing project management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Visual Branding Experience
  • Experience with marketing businesses or startups is an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of media buying and online advertising campaigns including Google AdWords, Facebook ads, Bing ads, Twitter ads, LinkedIn ads
  • Knowledge of SEO tools like Market Samurai, MOZ, Screaming Spider
  • Knowledge of ecommerce shopping carts like Shopify, Volusion, Ecwid etc., and integration with an LMS or CMS
  • Proven track record of working with marketing platforms and delivering multifaceted, digitally driven campaigns from strategy through execution
  • Strong digital copywriting, design, content marketing and verbal communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and a video editing platform
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Exceptional project management skills; ability to prioritize, focus, lead, influence and delegate
  • Proven ability to translate client insights into successful digital marketing programs and a high degree of creativity to find new and compelling ways to reach clients
  • Fluent in WordPress hosting, usage and maintenance (updates and plugins)
  • Fluent in Google Analytics and ecommerce conversion tracking
  • Knowledge of Google Webmaster Tools, Google Tag Manager
  • Knowledge of hosting technologies like cPanel, FTP, SSL etc.
  • Drupal, Moodle and SugarCRM knowledge is an asset
  • Able to work with both back-end and front-end technologies
