Position: Associate Foreign Trade Zone Analyst

Location: Columbus, OH

Description: The Associate Foreign Trade Zone Analyst’s (FTZ Administrator) primary job function is the administration and overall trade compliance of our Foreign Trade Zone.  The FTZ administrator will be responsible for ensuring that the Trade Zone operates in compliance with Customs requirements (audit, admissions, and arrival of FTZ cargo) and for submitting daily operational reports in accordance with FTZ guidelines.

The FTZ administrator should adhere to the highest standard of Customs Compliance in a cross functional global environment while leveraging International Trade knowledge to help achieve organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage FTZ Operations including daily zone transactions
  • Review & Validate e214’s
  • Review & Validate weekly estimate (3461) and weekly entry (7501)
  • In bond exports (QP) and permits to transfer (PTT)
  • Be a liaison to internal and external associates regarding FTZ operations and activities; Work closely with Distribution personnel ensuring bonded and domestic goods are properly identified, handled, and received into the zone
  • Validate FTZ data against actual documentation as needed
  • Reconcile the inventory balances between the FTZ software program and the Company inventory system (WMS), while correcting any discrepancies to ensure accurate reporting to US Customs
  • Evaluate and implement cost saving performance metrics for management review
  • Keep updated with legislation changes impacting Foreign Trade Zones
  • Provide FTZ Compliance training for all associates working within the zone
  • Review annual FTZ reports (Yearly Blanket CBP form 216, Annual Reconciliation, Certification Letter, FTZ Board Report)
  • Conduct audits of transactions or processes and make recommendations for improvements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • General audit experience is required.  Specific FTZ audit experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee inventory control systems, warehousing, and logistic activities related to the FTZ function
  • Minimum four years experience with FTZ regulations
  • Experience with Integration Point FTZ software required
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) required
  • Working knowledge of order management/inventory allocations processes
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities while meeting deadlines and collaborating with a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, set goals and prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communicative skills
  • Collaborative team player driven by organizational results
