FITT Program Instructor

Position Overview

Vancouver Career College Vancouver campus is seeking a part-time FITT (Forum for International Trade Training) Instructor. Topics of instruction include import/export planning, entry strategies for international markets and cross-cultural business practices, trade regulations, negotiation strategies, marketing techniques and global trade trends.

Duties and Responsibilities

The FITT Instructor is responsible for leveraging their expertise and experience to deliver education services to students through:

  • Preparing lesson plans and teaching aids that utilize a variety of teaching methods to promote student success
  • Challenging, engaging, and communicating with students to encourage their participation and learning
  • Coaching, mentoring and tutoring students to maximize student learning and retention
  • Evaluating the learning process, and monitoring and discussing students’ progress with them
  • Assigning and posting grades

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess the following education, experience and competencies:

  • Degree, diploma or certification from a recognized university
  • A minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in a  related field
  • FITT certification (Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage and inspire students , and committed to student success
  • Competent in planning and delivering instructional content
  • Teaching experience is an asset
