Team & Job Overview
The Partnerships team is accountable for enterprise and regional level relationship management driving results through a win-win-win approach with domestic & international financial institutions (FI), private-equity firms, alternative lenders and other Private, Crown and Association organizations. The team develops and executes enterprise-level strategies, and channel tactics to maximize the business potential in support to Canadian Exporters. This is achieved by developing trusted partnerships and established network with key internal and external stakeholders optimizing partner priorities and potential with the goal to diversify EDC’s solution suite within the market.
What you will be doing
- Establish and deepen relationships with prioritized International (Int’l) FIs based in Canada, Canadian FIs with int’l presence to drive transaction opportunities for medium-large Canadian businesses across a spectrum of industry sectors
- Accountable for overall business performance for the assigned partner – this includes objectives and portfolio monitoring that are aligned with EDC’s medium-term plan
- Supports with the implementation of strategic initiatives and influences the development of new opportunities and new/existing solutions that help meet the clients’ needs
- Create and effectively communicate the Int’l Partnerships approach and roadmap with senior executives (internally and externally) via email, decks and presentations
- Collaborate with cross-functional global EDC teams to execute on deliverables and act as a subject matter expert with internal stakeholders
- Lead partner selection process by understanding their strategy, capabilities and alignment to EDC’s mandate and priorities; and onboard selected partners
- From a partnerships’ perspective, gather and share relevant market intelligence across various sectors through partner interactions to support and influence EDC’s mandate
- Leverages existing network, build and maintain effective long-term relationships with internal stakeholders and portfolio of trade ecosystem partners.
- Develop, maintain and action account plans for prioritized partners in collaboration with the partner and internal stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business development in international financial services sector
- Minimum 7 years client management or transactional experience in Canadian and International commercial and/or corporate banking
- Experience in leading corporate-level initiatives in a matrixed environment with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstration of strong strategic mindset, influencing skills and relationship management
